Privacy Policy

This policy covers the Regular Dude Defense website (www.regulardudedefense.com). It explains the information used to show our inventory, answer your inquiries, protect the contact form and, if you choose, measure website use.

• The only form on this site is the contact form. There are no accounts and no logins.
• The contact form uses an essential security cookie. Optional analytics starts only after you enter with it enabled in the age dialog, or enable it in Cookie settings.
• Confirming your age does not require accepting analytics. You can change your privacy choice at any time.
• Your age-verification choice is saved in your own browser, not sent to us.
• We don't sell your personal information.

The contact form asks for your name, email address or phone number, an optional subject and a message. If you call (775) 471-9010 or send a message through our contact form, we receive your phone number or email address and whatever you tell us. Contact form messages are processed by our website for spam checks, then sent from your browser through FormSubmit to the shop's email inbox. The website does not keep a message database. FormSubmit and the inbox provider process the message to deliver and store email. We use your details to answer your questions, schedule appointments and take care of your service or order.

Firearm purchases and transfers involve federal paperwork (such as ATF Form 4473) that licensed dealers are required by law to complete and keep. That happens in person at the store, not through this website.

If analytics is enabled in your saved choice, we use Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand website use and improve pages. Neither script loads before your choice and age confirmation. Rejecting analytics does not prevent browsing, calling or sending a message.

The website improvement and cookies box in the age dialog is initially checked unless you previously rejected analytics or your browser sends a privacy signal. That default does not start tracking by itself. Clicking YES confirms your age and saves the displayed analytics choice. Uncheck the box before clicking YES to enter without optional analytics. You can change the choice later in Cookie settings.

• Google Analytics 4 (measurement ID G-TKJ70DEKSM) collects information such as the pages you visit, your device and browser type, your approximate location, and whether you tap our phone, email or directions links.
• Microsoft Clarity records how visitors interact with pages (clicks, taps, scrolling and mouse movement) to produce session recordings and heatmaps. Clarity masks input fields, and we explicitly mask the contact form. Please do not put personal information in inventory searches or website URLs.

These services receive your IP address and set their own cookies or similar identifiers. Google and Microsoft process data under their own terms and privacy policies, including their service-operation and security purposes. We use the reports for website improvements. Our integration denies advertising-storage and advertising-personalization consent. Contact-message fields are not included in our analytics events. Turning analytics off disables our tracking events, stops Clarity and removes readable analytics cookies set on this site.

Essential contact security: rdd_contact_session is a first-party cookie lasting up to one hour, restricted to our contact API. It ties an anti-spam challenge to your browser. On HTTPS it is Secure, HttpOnly and SameSite=Strict. It is not used for advertising or analytics and remains available when optional tracking is rejected.

Optional analytics: when enabled, Google uses _ga and _ga_* cookies; our integration configures a 180-day lifetime. Microsoft Clarity uses identifiers such as _clck (up to one year) and _clsk (up to one day). Provider behavior and browser restrictions can shorten these periods. A cookie may expire after your saved choice does; our code still stops analytics when the saved choice expires or you withdraw it.

Privacy preference: rdd_privacy_choice is saved in local storage for up to 180 days, recording your analytics choice, policy version and timestamp. A changed version or expired choice requires a new decision. If browser storage is unavailable, the current page remembers your choice, but a later visit may ask again.

When you confirm you're 21 or older and choose to be remembered, that choice and a timestamp are stored in your browser's local storage for 30 days so you aren't asked on every visit. It stays on your device and is not sent to us. The browser also uses session storage (rdd:cur and rdd:prev) for in-site back navigation; it lasts for the tab's session. Clearing site data removes these saved choices. Blocking all cookies can prevent contact-form security from working; rejecting optional tracking in our controls does not block the contact form.

The Google Map on our contact page is not loaded automatically. Choosing “Load Google Map” connects to Google, which receives your IP address and browser information and may use cookies under the Google Privacy Policy. This choice is separate from optional analytics and applies to that map display. Buttons such as “Get directions” open Google Maps directly.

Our resources page and other pages link to outside websites, including YouTube channels, retailers and training sites. Once you leave our site, that site's privacy practices apply, not ours.

The firearms shown on this site come from our own store inventory records. They describe the guns (make, model, caliber, price and so on) and contain no customer information.

Like any website, our hosting provider automatically processes basic technical information, such as IP addresses, browser type and the time of each request, to deliver pages, keep the site secure and troubleshoot problems.

We do not sell contact inquiries or customer details. Information is processed by the providers described in this policy to deliver the website, handle messages and, if chosen, provide analytics, or disclosed when required by law. Google and Microsoft also describe their own processing in their linked policies.

Nevada residents: we do not sell covered information for monetary consideration as defined in Nevada Revised Statutes Chapter 603A. We do not authorize advertising tracking through our analytics integration. Google and Microsoft's own processing is described in their linked policies; optional analytics is your choice. Use the contact form below for a verified request not to sell your covered information.

Cookie settings

• Use Cookie settings in the footer to accept or reject optional analytics. Rejecting is available without contacting us or installing an add-on.
• We honor Global Privacy Control (GPC) and Do Not Track (DNT=1) by keeping optional analytics off, even if a prior choice allowed it. Turn off that browser signal before choosing to enable analytics.
• Age confirmation, browsing, calls and contact-form delivery do not depend on analytics consent.
• You can also clear site data or use browser content blockers. We cannot delete Google or Microsoft cookies set on their own domains through this website.

Third-party analytics providers can process online activity across services under their policies. Browsing, scrolling and contact messages do not enable analytics. The age dialog's YES button saves the displayed checkbox choice; uncheck website improvement and cookies before entering to keep optional analytics off.

Contact emails remain in the shop's inbox and are not automatically deleted by this website. They are used to answer your inquiry and manage related appointments, services, warranty questions and business records. Applicable recordkeeping or dispute obligations can require longer retention. FormSubmit documents a 30-day submission archive; see its documentation (opens in a new tab) and privacy policy (opens in a new tab). Hosting logs and analytics records follow each provider's retention settings and policies; cookie expiration is not a promise that past reports have been deleted.

To request access, a correction, deletion or an opt-out, use our contact form or call (775) 471-9010. The contact form is our designated online privacy-request channel. Please say what you need and give us a way to reply; do not send identity documents through the form. We may need to verify that the information belongs to you and will explain any legal reason we cannot delete a record. We respond within the time required by applicable law; Nevada verified sale opt-out requests ordinarily receive a response within 60 days, with notice if a permitted extension is needed. No website privacy request replaces legally required firearm records.

This site is intended for adults 21 and older. Our age confirmation is a website access policy and is separate from lawful purchase eligibility. We do not knowingly collect children's personal information. If you believe a child sent personal information, contact us so we can investigate and remove it where appropriate.

If we change how the site handles information, we'll update this page and the effective date at the top.
