How a transfer works

Four steps, start to finish. Call before you buy so we can get our license to the seller.

1. Call us first

Before you buy, call so we can send our Federal Firearms License to the seller or dealer shipping the firearm.

2. Seller ships to our FFL

You arrange for the seller to ship the firearm to Regular Dude Defense. It must come to our FFL, not to you.

3. We log it in and call you

When the firearm arrives, we check it in and contact you to set up a pickup appointment.

4. Form 4473 & background check

At pickup you complete ATF Form 4473 and a background check. Nevada runs its own checks through the Department of Public Safety.

Bring valid photo ID

A valid, government-issued photo ID is required at pickup.

Age requirements

You must be 21 or older for a handgun from an FFL, and 18 or older for a rifle or shotgun.

FFL Transfers: common questions

How do I get my online gun purchase shipped to you?

Call us before you buy so we can send our FFL to the seller. Then have the seller ship the firearm to Regular Dude Defense. We'll contact you when it arrives.

What do I need to bring to pick up my transfer?

A valid, government-issued photo ID. At your pickup appointment you'll complete ATF Form 4473 and a background check.

Who runs the background check in Nevada?

Nevada runs its own firearm background checks through the Nevada Department of Public Safety. The check is completed at pickup.

How old do I need to be?

Federal law requires you to be 21 or older to receive a handgun from a licensed dealer, and 18 or older for a rifle or shotgun.

Do I need an appointment to pick up?

Yes. We're open 8 AM to 4:30 PM, seven days a week, by appointment only. We'll set up a pickup time when your firearm arrives.
